How the Dubai AI Seal is checked
The Dubai AI Seal is DCAI’s verification programme for AI companies licensed in Dubai. It sorts them into six tiers, E, D, C, B, A and S, by their contribution to Dubai’s AI economy, with S at the top.
The check runs on documents. For each AI activity a company claims, the Seal team asks for a tax invoice that names the AI product or service, and a letter from a Dubai client, with its address and TRN, saying how the AI is used. A website that says “AI” counts for nothing. DCAI’s stated aim is to protect buyers from “irrelevant suppliers and AI washing”.
What it means for Dubai government buyers
In October 2025, Dubai’s Department of Finance urged government entities to restrict AI-related service and consultancy contracts to Seal holders, as The National reported. For a Dubai government entity, the Seal is now a pre-qualification question. For a private buyer it saves a step: someone has already checked that the AI on the invoice is real.
